SQUISHABLE X FIT:
The Design of Comfort Exhibition

Construction

  • Begin by creating initial concept sketches using Procreate to visualize the design.

  • Use Illustrator to design all visual elements in detail.

  • Print and apply the finalized designs to be used on the display components.

  • Cut and construct larger parts, like the hibiscus flowers, hand structure, and backdrop.

  • Assemble these pieces to add dimension and depth.

  • Create smaller details to complete the scene.

  • Prepare hanging elements for easy installation.

  • Assess the layout to ensure everything fits as intended.

  • Add the final interactive elements and secure them for a stable, immersive

The Design of Comfort exhibition was a collaboration between FIT’s Spatial Experience Design program and Squishable, showcasing nine themed exhibits designed by student groups. Held at the FIT Art and Design Gallery in Manhattan, it was open to the public for two weeks in spring 2024.
